Barrister and Mann 'Electric Mayhem' (Omnibus) Set

Few things are more emblematic of the Roaring 20s than swing music. Bouncing and lively, it was a reflection of the reckless indulgence and newfound freedom of the age, where women smoked cigarettes and danced with their partners and men plotted the deals that would lead to once-in-a-century economic calamity. While the 20s burned out in spectacular fashion, chastening a generation, swing music survived, intermittently regaining popularity in brief revivals over the next few decades.

In the early 21st Century, someone decided to do something a little different.

Born from the remarkably inventive combination of swing music's brassy joy and the intense character of modern house music, electroswing is the very essence of impish, thrilling, infectiously danceable music, characterized by glorious brass sections, grinding electronic beats, and enthusiastic, wailing vocals to round out the mix. It's the perfect representation of the early millennium, and has become a favorite here at Barrister and Mann. But it turns out that we're not the only ones having a good time.

After we contacted Shawn Maher of Chatillon Lux/Maher Olfactive to ask if he might be interested in creating something special for us to represent our love for electroswing, he delivered with more than we could have possibly hoped. Crafted from a blend of yuzu, tamarind, plum, galbanum, ozone, clary sage absolute, rosewood fretboard, ambrette seed, and white musk, and reminiscent of nothing so much as hot neon lights and cold drinks, Electric Mayhem is a deliriously happy representation of everything that it means to be young and alive.

The Soap

Our new Omnibus shaving soap base sets the standard for post-shave feel, latherability, slickness, and protection. The product of nearly 18 months of grueling R&D, our most high-performing soap to date is astonishingly, almost unnaturally slick, and the protection offered by Omnibus is second to none. What's more, we've pulled out all the stops to deliver a post-shave experience no other, and we're proud to announce that Omnibus is also lanolin free! Instead, we've enriched the soap with botanicals, goat and coconut milks, shea butter, avocado oil, and the remarkable substance cupuaçu butter, which can absorb as much as 250% more water than lanolin without the risk of irritation. Pick up a jar of what one of our testers called "the densest, creamiest, best-feeling soap I have used, period."

Directions: Wet your shaving brush well, then swirl it around the jar for roughly thirty seconds or until a rich, creamy lather is formed. Continue building the lather by adding water and swirling your brush either on your face or in a lathering bowl. Shave, rinse, and spend your day feeling great.

The Balm

Our upgraded and improved alcohol-free aftershave balm is a glorious treat for the skin.
