This batch of solid bar G plates is a small run. I've had several requests for something more aggressive than the SB-F plates and Mr. Marc Laroche (@dartmouthshaving) was the tipping point.
I don't have plans to make more of these just yet, but that's because I have my hands full with the aluminum and stainless razors at the moment. If you want one and they're sold out, let me know and I'll add your name to the list (no commitment required, of course). The more requests I get, the sooner I'll make another batch.
The G plate has a 1.36mm blade gap and a positive 0.25mm blade exposure.
For comparison, the F plate a 1.23 mm blade gap and a positive 0.22mm blade exposure.
I've daily shaved with the G plate for a few days in a row now. Blade feel is prominent and it takes a fair amount of care to handle it properly, but it is possible. My regular daily plate is an SB-C.
As always, this plate will fit any past or future Christopher Bradley razor.
The underside of each plate is permanently engraved with its level, which is visible when the razor is completely assembled.
The plate is constructed from solid brass and is bead blasted for a subtle matte finish. As is the case with all uncoated brass items, a patina will form over time and the surfaces will darken.
